Formerly the most important European F3 race of the season,</span><span lang="EN-US"> in which the best F3 drivers of Europe compete against each other. Now, the Masters of F3</span> forms the 4th of five events in the inaugural FIA Formula 3 International Trophy.<span lang="EN-US"> One thing will probably stay the same though, the winner of the Masters Of F3 has a high chance of ending up in Formula 1. Former winners that reached F1 are e.g. Lewis Hamilton, Nico Hülkenberg, Paul di Resta, Christian Klien, Takuma Sato, David Coulthard, and Jos Verstappen.</span><br />
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal"><b><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size: 12pt; font-weight: normal; line-height: 115%;">Having said that, a certain announcement made a few weeks ago, was a small let down before this years 21st edition even starts. Only one team, Carlin Motorsports, of the British F3 Championship will be present this weekend. This means that the field will consist out of 19 drivers. Only the first edition of the Masters in 1991 produced a smaller grid. </span></b></div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal"><b><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size: 12pt; font-weight: normal; line-height: 115%;"> </span></b></div><div class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-family: "Times New Roman","serif"; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 115%;">So why are the British F3 teams not joining? The most heard reason is unfair competition. They say the F3 Euro Series drivers have already raced in Zandvoort in May of this year. </span><span lang="EN-US" style="font-family: "Times New Roman","serif"; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 115%;">One thing that is for certain is the following fact: since the creation of the Formula 3 Euro Series in 2003, every single Masters of F3 has been won by a Euro Series driver. </span><span lang="EN-US" style="font-family: "Times New Roman","serif"; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 115%;">One other important thing to note is that Felipe Nasr, leader of the British F3 Championship and racing for Carlin Motorsport, won’t participate. Reason is his management ‘doesn’t see the need’.</span></div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-family: "Times New Roman","serif"; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 115%;"> </span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.youtube.com/embed/BDGJrdCInp8?feature=player_embedded' frameborder='0'></iframe></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: x-small;"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-family: "Times New Roman","serif"; line-height: 115%;">Most of these British F3 drivers won’t be present during the 2011 Masters Of F3 edition</span></span></div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
<a name='more'></a><span lang="EN-US" style="font-family: "Times New Roman","serif"; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 115%;">Even though the drivers field is quite small this year the competition will be tough. Simply said: quality is more important than quantity, right? Like stated, in the last 8 years a Euro Series driver claimed the top step on the podium. This leads us to the name of </span><span lang="EN-US" style="font-family: "Times New Roman","serif"; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 115%;">Euro Series Championship leader </span><span lang="EN-US" style="font-family: "Times New Roman","serif"; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 115%;">Roberto Merhi, who is the favourite to win this weekend. There's also a big change he will wrap up the FIA F3 International Trophy during this round. Only thing that isn't in Merhi's favor are his previous results at the Zandvoort circuit. He reached the podium only ones as third during his last showing in May at Zandvoort. However recently Merhi gave his rivals a 'clinic' in Spa.</span></div><div class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-family: "Times New Roman","serif"; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 115%;"> </span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.youtube.com/embed/EdTnQb8RE8o?feature=player_embedded' frameborder='0'></iframe></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center;"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-family: "Times New Roman","serif"; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 115%;"><span style="font-size: x-small;">Footage of the International F3 Championship 2011, Spa race</span></span></div><div class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-family: "Times New Roman","serif"; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 115%;"><br />
</span></div><div class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US">So which drivers could probably challenge Merhi and become the successor of last year's winner Valtteri Bottas? Daniel Juncadella, Felix Rosenqvist, Marco Wittmann and Nigel Melker are the main candidates. Melker for example is driving a home race and won one of the Euro Series races at Zandvoort in May this year. Will he take the win in front of his home crowed again and be the successor of Dutch countrymen Jos Verstappen and Tom Coronel? One things for sure, we have atleast 4 young talents that will seriously fight for the win this weekend </span></div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.youtube.com/embed/RT2O-yTZoNY?feature=player_embedded' frameborder='0'></iframe></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: x-small;"><span lang="EN-US">Bottas 2010 masters win, who will be his successor?</span></span></div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US">F3 is off course the main event of the weekend, but as in earlier editions of the Masters of Formula 3 the organizers have put together a fantastic program for both days. One of the most spectacular side classes of this year will be the Boss GP. which consist of 21 big open singleseaters including 10 F1 cars raced before 2006. Other 'historic' cars that can be seen in this league are from the following championships GP2, Champcar, Formula 3000, Indycar and the World Series by Renault. Furthermore every year there are special guests performances. In past years the likes of Michael Schumacher, Rene Arnoux, and Sebastian Vettel showed up to entertain the packed grandstands with their cars of that moment. This year the special guests are Daniël Ricciardo (HRT driver & RedBull talent) and Jos Verstappen (back again). The former will be giving a Nascar demo and the latter a F1 demo in the </span>Tyrrell 026<span lang="EN-US">.</span></div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />

Grouwels was under alot of pressure, since Visser was clearly faster. After a couple of laps Grouwels made a mistake and Visser took first place. Sadly, not long after Visser was informed she had received a drive-through penalty, because the ’25 resultseconds’ penalty wasn’t taken correctly. </span></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal;"><br />

A hard battle for second followed and after she managed to take the place, Grouwels was her next victim (again). She closed the gap quickly and made her move in Strubben (corner). Grouwels put up a hard fight though, but spun his car. After that Visser could cruise to the finish and managed to defeat all the experienced drivers in her sportscar racing debute, while being only 16 years old. </span></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal;"><br />

On the other hand there were also moments where an idiot ran on the F1 track while the race was still going on. These 'fan(s)' probably wanted there minute of fame or picked the wrong moment to ask attention for some cause they believed in. A lot of big names showed including Rooney, Giggs, Bergkamp, Rijkaard and Ferdinand. We at L7M thought this would be the perfect time to write a little tribute, our way, about this fantastic goalkeeper.</span><br />
<br />
<span lang="EN-US">Van der Sar, 29-10-1970, started his professional football career at Ajax in 1990. During the 1992/93 season he had his big breakthrough when he replaced Stanley Menzo as Ajax’s number 1 goalkeeper. He would stay at Ajax for 9 years and won 13 titles with them. The highlight of this period was definitely the 1994 and 1995 in which he, while being part of the golden generation of Ajax, won the Dutch title, Johan Cruijff Shield, UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, and Intercontinental Cup.</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><object class="BLOGGER-youtube-video" classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0" data-thumbnail-src="http://2.gvt0.com/vi/_obGI_pqDeY/0.jpg" height="266" width="320"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/_obGI_pqDeY&fs=1&source=uds" /><param name="bgcolor" value="#FFFFFF" /><embed width="320" height="266" src="http://www.youtube.com/v/_obGI_pqDeY&fs=1&source=uds" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"></embed></object></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: x-small;"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-family: "Times New Roman","serif"; line-height: 115%;">Van der Sar scored his one and only goal, in his career, during his period with ajax.</span></span></div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
<a name='more'></a><span lang="EN-US">After the 1998/99 season Van der Sar decided he was ready to move on and signed for the Italian Serie A club Juventus. Even though he showed good form, his stay in Italy wasn’t the best. He lost his place in the summer of 2001 when Juventus decided to sign goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon. Unwilling to remain as second choice behind Buffon, Van der Sar made it clear he wished to move on after 2 years in the Serie A.</span><br />
<span lang="EN-US"> </span> </div><span lang="EN-US">The big clubs were sleeping and Van der Sar eventually opted to move to the English Premier League, joining newly promoted London club Fulham. For 4 years he would defend Fulhams goal and proved he was still one of the best goalkeepers in the world. In a television interview Van der Sar told that he had a great time in London from a social point of view. He, however, wished to finish his career with a big club. This opportunity arose in 2005.</span><br />
<br />
<span lang="EN-US">In 2005 Manchester was in need of a good goalkeeper for several years now and they finally opted to sign Van der Sar. This would be a perfect combination and together they would win 10 titles, including 4 Premier League Cups, the UEFA Champions League and the FIFA Club World Cup. In 2011 Van der Sar decided it was time to retire from Football and played his last game for Manchester United on 28-05-2011, the UEFA Champions League Final against Barcelona, Sadly United lost. One of the biggest compliments Van der Sar received, at the end of his career, was from Alex Ferguson who confessed they should have signed Van der Sar much earlier.</span><br />
<div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.youtube.com/embed/Vllo3243EqA?feature=player_embedded' frameborder='0'></iframe></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: x-small;"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-family: "Times New Roman","serif"; line-height: 115%;">One of the great things about Van der Sar were his Football skills.</span></span></div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US">Van der Sar won several titles with his clubs, but during his career he also took home individual honours, including Best European Goalkeeper in 1995, 2008, 2009 and 2010, and UEFA Club Goalkeeper of the Year in 1995 and 2009. He also holds the world league clean sheet record, 1,311 minutes, set during the 2008/09 Premier League season. Is the first goalkeeper to keep 50 clean sheets in the UEFA Champions League and he is the most capped player for the Netherlands national team, with 130 caps.</span></div><br />
<span lang="EN-US">Even though there were some bumps along the way, Van der Sar’s career has been like a young boy’s dream. We at L7M want to thank Edwin van der Sar for all the beautifull saves he made during his career, especially for Ajax and the national team. We wish him the best for the future, with health being the most important thing for him and his family. We hope to see you back in football though as an analist or coach!</span><span lang="EN-US"></span><br />

He was e.g. a martial arts instructor, founder of the Jeet Kune Do martial arts movement, actor, film director, film producer, screenwriter, and philosopher. Honestly this iconic figure needs no further introduction, but is it known that he used Nunchucks to play ping pong?<br />

We have put him in charge of running ling7magazines twitter page @ling7mag. Well to be honest putting in charge are the wrong words, since we sort of handed the twitter page to him. This means that he's free to post everyday stuff involving him and his thoughts. There are only 2 rules he needs to follow:<br />
1) he makes sure he tweets about our site updates<br />
2) he doesn't go tweet crazy, meaning keep the tweets in check (not more than +/- 7 tweets a day)<br />
<br />
Furthermore, he will have his own section in ling7magazine. He says he will let his creative mind go to work and drop creative or funny articles, song lyrics, scripts etc etc. To sum up: whatever pops up in his mind. We will see how this works out, because Lay stands 4 La(z)y. <br />
<br />
The only thing that L7M can say about Lay is that he's crazy, strange, and hilarious. <br />

We hope this works out well and from now on this section, which carries his name for the obvious reasons, is his! We would like to say 'Lay blow us away'.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4786144518009718792.post-59555617793595401922011-07-08T17:26:00.001-07:002011-07-08T17:26:58.842-07:00DementiaTestUnknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4786144518009718792.post-30333560735817030012011-07-08T16:33:00.001-07:002011-07-31T17:42:04.629-07:00Lewis@theTherapist (parody)<div style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-size: small;">T: Aw Lewis what a surprise. Simon or Martin sent you?<br />
<br />
</span></div><div style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-size: small;">L: Does it matter! <br />
<br />
</span></div><div style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-size: small;">T: No, so a rainy Silverstone. However let’s reflect on the last 3 races ok?<br />
<br />
</span></div><div style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-size: small;">L: Monaco was a joke, an absolute frickin’ joke. Canada was obviously not good for either driver, we’ve looked at it and think it’s a racing incident. Then in Valencia I finished. We made some positive pit-stop improvements there.</span></div><div style="font-family: inherit;"><br />
</div><div style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-size: small;">T: Yeah let’s talk about Monaco real quick. You messed up!</span></div><span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: small;"> </span><br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span lang="EN-US"> </span></span></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span lang="EN-US">L: All the tension just boiled up. I had some time to reflect and I feel it was just a bad weekend in the office. I apologized, I think it was the right thing for me to do and to be able to put everything behind me. I just try ….”</span></span></div><span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: small;"> </span><br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: inherit;"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span lang="EN-US">T: Lewis, i’m talking about you messing up Ali G’s Line! It’s ‘Is it cos I is black?’, NOT ‘maybe because I’m black’. That’s not what Ali G says! Quote him right man. (Lewis trying to interrupt) Nah hold up. I feel for ya. </span></span></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span lang="EN-US"></span></span></div><a name='more'></a><br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span lang="EN-US">L: What?? You a therapist or am I on candid camera?</span></span></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: inherit;"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span lang="EN-US">T: Nah Lewis. Listen i love, The Lovely Lee, but she could have helped you out with one line:</span></span></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span lang="EN-US">‘Is you on crack or somethin'?’ That’s what Ali G would have asked.</span></span></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: inherit;"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span lang="EN-US">L: You a fool man, bloody fool.</span></span></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: inherit;"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span lang="EN-US">T: Ok, in all seriousness it was a badly timed joke and really brought out the doo doo trucks. Just learn from it. Don’t lose personality and lose lame lines like</span></span></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span lang="EN-US">“All of the negatives I’ve had, I’ve turned them into positives,”</span></span></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span lang="EN-US">Puke man puke puke puke!</span></span></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span lang="EN-US">(Lewis just staring with surprise)</span></span></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: inherit;"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span lang="EN-US">T: So I heard Valencia was just a blip, and now after day one it’s still unclear what sort of effect the new rules have. </span></span></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: inherit;"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span lang="EN-US">L: Yeah, we should be able to get a better read on how the new interpretations of the regulations will affect us from tomorrow……..</span></span></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: inherit;"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span lang="EN-US">T: OK, i'm tired session over (another surprised look from Lewis). Here’s my advise:</span></span></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: inherit;"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span lang="EN-US">You are one of the few real racers with the balls we saw back in the 80s. Only thing is, it’s impossible to have a car that is able to win the title every year. This can lead to overenthusiastic behavior and overdriving of the car, which will lead to tears more often then not. So key points to remember are: 1) a season is long, 2) the balance between teams can shift, 3) you always need to combine speed with brainpower, 4) It’s impossible to challenge for the title every year. </span></span></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: inherit;"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span lang="EN-US">In 5 years time you’ve won 1 World Driver Championship (WDC) and challenged 2 times. History tells us that only 8 drivers have won 3 or more WDC titles. Now it’s almost certain you will have 8+ years in this category. If you stay put, you will certainly have enough chances to join the elite group of 3+ WDC titles. </span></span></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span lang="EN-US">So to quote a wise man going by the name of Captain Jack Sparrow, ‘wait for the opportune moment’. Well moments in your case. Don’t be like a crazy young bull, that gets released for the first time. </span></span></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: inherit;"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span lang="EN-US">Alrighty then after all this ‘wise’ crap lets end with a short vid, comedy is the best preparation:</span></span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.youtube.com/embed/z8HOMMfKOm0?feature=player_embedded' frameborder='0'></iframe></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span lang="EN-US"></span></span></div>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0
